Muse: Pretty Little Liars - Spring 2013

As you may know my favorite guilty pleasure came back on air January 8th. I didn't have the ability to watch that week's episode so I watched the newest one and last week's episode tonight. I really enjoy compacting the episodes but my heart is racing a bit by the end of it.

There is always great fashion in this show (one of the reasons I love it so much). Even if I don't love the outfit there's always something, makeup, accessories, bags or shoes, I just want to gush about.

So I have recreated an outfit from the first two episodes for each character (the good, bad, and ugly).

You can see my last PLL fashion post here.

Pretty Girls, Ugly Secrets:

"It's not fun to keep secrets, but sometimes you have to do it to protect yourself. And to protect people around you"

Starting with Hanna- She was a tough as nails character who has really grown a lot in the past few seasons and I credit a lot of that to Cardigan Caleb (as I call him). Her fashion is always fierce but this Spring it seems she'll be wearing some softer clothes to mirror her character softening.
Wearing a baby blue and white polka dotted dress can sometimes look like a costume so keep it modern with a chiffon fabric and a clean cut. Pair it with a structured blazer and cinching belt to give the outfit a polished look. Amp up the style like Hanna would with spiked black pumps, spiked earrings and layering different colored necklaces.

"Strangers see you the way you want them to see you. You can't fool friends…that's what makes them friends"

Spencer is going to have one hell of a season, now if you haven't caught up to the current season (3 episode 15) then just know Spencer will be the one that will have a reason to break the most.
Her style is college interview meets high fashion. She has trendy items like high low skirts in Pantone COTY Emerald mixed with ruffled tops and soft cardigans. She adds couture into her looks with her bags, think rich leather and caged heels. Finish with a minimalistic watch and coffee to complete the Spencer look.

"The rest of the girls pretended not to notice. That's just what best friends do."

Aria has a relaxed boho chic look to go with her crazy family drama. I am no stranger to family drama and I'm pretty sure her life is crazier than mine. I really love this look because it is very minimal but has these great details proving that you don't need tons of pieces to make an awesome outfit. Although it may not be clear in my screenshot she is wearing a leather dress and I love the sweetheart neckline to sweeten the intensity of the dress. She pairs it with brown knee high lace up boots and an embellished belt. Theres another scene in the episode where she has on a bolero style jacket but I couldn't find anything similar so I opted to include a crop leather jacket which I think still exudes Aria's vibe.

"It’s not so important who starts the game but who finishes it."

Emily is my favorite character of the show. Her life as been one constant roller coaster but despite "A" and that drama she seems to finally have her feet on the ground. Her relaxed boy meets girl vibe is one I try to incorporate into my style. To achieve her look pair black coated jeans with a vintage band tee (any artist you love so you don't look like a poser). Add some long chain necklaces in different metals to give an effortless rocker look. Throw on your favorite sneakers and you can actually run away from "A" (unlike some other girls who go to that school).

"The sweetest smiles hold the darkest secrets."

Alison - the one who started it all.  Her sugary sweet style has elements of sex appeal and with her confidence she'd honestly look good in an old paper bag. Light wash distressed jeans and pink tanks give the feeling of summer. Maybe it's because most flashbacks of Ali are in the summer but her style always has that warm summery vibe. Clinch the tank with a bright yellow belt and add some sparkle with a statement necklace. Finish with a structured purple/grey bag big enough to hold your lip gloss and every secret anyone in Rosewood has ever had and you're good to go.

"Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it."

Mona from geek to chic. Her character seemed pretty superficial at first then some events transpired (trying to be delicate so I don't give anything away) but she is at Rosewood High and has turned over a new leaf and with that comes new fashion. Her style always seemed trendy and sexy but now it is elegant and classy. A robin egg's blue lace dress paired with a patterned blazer is elegant enough to make everyone forget those things you've done right? Paired with a brooch inspired belt and a blushing pink bag and flats no one will ever suspect you'd hurt a fly… again.
